Organization’s Mandate
SWA-JIB Society is committed to organizing destitute, poor, and disadvantaged individuals into community groups and fostering collective leadership among them. The organization works to create employment opportunities for both men and women through skills development, self-financing initiatives, and structured organizational support. A key focus of the mandate is to equip members with the ability to select, plan, and manage feasible income-generating activities (IGAs), enabling them to improve their purchasing power and overall quality of life.
The organization also prioritizes human resource development by enhancing skills and awareness related to legal rights, family law, and human rights. This approach helps raise consciousness and promotes equal opportunities for men and women across society. SWA-JIB Society further works to expand educational opportunities for both adults and children through non-formal education and literacy programmes. In the field of healthcare, the organization provides a wide range of preventive and curative health education services and implements programmes focused on safe water, hygiene, and sanitation.
To support sustainable livelihoods, SWA-JIB Society undertakes agro-based projects related to agricultural production, fisheries, poultry, and livestock. Environmental initiatives—including environmental education, plantation activities, and solid waste management—also form an important part of the organization’s work. Additionally, the organization participates in anti-smoking campaigns, free medical camps for autistic children, and other social responsibility initiatives designed to promote public well-being.
Program Strategies

Target Population
SWA-JIB Society primarily works with poor and underprivileged individuals—especially women and adolescents—who are motivated to improve their quality of life through active participation. The target group also includes poor, landless, and asset-less individuals who wish to build their financial base through savings and investment opportunities. The organization further supports people who are already involved in income-generating activities and are interested in expanding or establishing small enterprises.

Programme Interventions
SWA-JIB Society implements a wide range of development interventions aimed at improving livelihoods, strengthening human capacity, and enhancing social well-being. The microfinance programme encompasses institution building, savings accumulation, women’s empowerment, income generation, group development, skills training, and awareness activities related to life skills, health, family law, reproductive health, literacy, and prevention of women’s rights violations and human trafficking.
Human resource development initiatives include staff training, skills-based learning, and youth development activities. Agricultural programmes focus on homestead gardening, poultry and livestock rearing, and fish culture. In the health sector, the organization provides essential services such as reproductive healthcare, family planning, child health services, communicable disease control, limited curative care, behavioural change communication, and HIV/AIDS awareness.
SWA-JIB Society also contributes to water and sanitation improvements by promoting hygienic latrines and safe drinking water. Environmental and climate change initiatives, rehabilitation support for persons with disabilities, non-formal education, and disaster management efforts further enhance the organization’s comprehensive development approach.
