WELCOME TO SWA-JIB SOCIETY
“SWA-JIB” is a Bengali term derived from two words: ‘SWA’, meaning self, and ‘JIB’, meaning life or living being. Together, the name reflects our belief in a society that can uplift itself through its own strength and collective effort. Guided by this philosophy, SWA-JIB Society began its journey on 1 October 1999, starting on a modest scale. Over the years, our organization has expanded steadily and now implements diverse social development activities across Bangladesh. Looking ahead, we aspire to extend our services globally and contribute to positive change beyond national borders.
We firmly believe that meaningful social development can only be achieved when people from all levels of society participate actively. Underprivileged communities often struggle to improve their lives without proper guidance, education, and access to income-generating opportunities. As a result, they remain unable to play an effective role in society.
At SWA-JIB Society, we work to change this reality. We aim to empower neglected and disadvantaged individuals—including persons with disabilities and those recovering from addiction—by providing them with education, technical training, and the practical skills needed to become functional and self-reliant. When these individuals gain confidence and economic stability, they not only transform their own lives but also contribute to the broader development of the country.
